Our camp format is designed as a short-term, high-impact experience delivered over multiple consecutive days. Instruction follows a structured skill progression model that accommodates varying ability levels, supporting safe, measurable advancement while establishing the foundational motor and balance competencies necessary for continued bike riding growth beyond the camp setting.

Your Journey to Riding With All Abilities Bike

We do not have any planned camps at this time but please check back later for summer camp schedules!.

  1. Participants select a camp in their area and complete online registration

2-3 weeks prior to the camp, the bike, helmet, and pedal kit will be shipped to the participant’s address

Participants assemble their bikes at home and bring both the bike and helmet to the first class, excited to learn how to ride!

Learn how to ride a bike by striding and gliding in balance mode for 6 lessons and with pedals for 4 lessons

What to Expect at an All Abilities Bike Camp

A Balance Bike – Designed for ease of learning and confidence-building.

A Helmet – Ensuring safety during all activities.

A Pedal Conversion Kit – Helping participants transition from balance to pedaling at their own pace.

10-Lesson Curriculum

Bike Assembly and Safety Overview

The instructor will assist with bike assembly, if needed, and ensure that all bikes are built safely and correctly. The instructor will explain proper helmet and bike fitment.

Pre-Ride Check and Introduction to Striding

The instructor will ensure proper bike fitment for all individuals and introduce walking/striding with the bike.

Introduction to Gliding and Hand Braking

Participants will learn how to glide by putting one foot on a footrest to gain a sense of balance. Participants will continue getting comfortable using feet to brake while being introduced to the hand brake.

Practice Striding, Gliding and Braking

Participants will stride for momentum building their confidence with brief periods of gliding with both feet off the ground.

Participants will practice gliding for longer distances without feet touching the ground.

Continued Striding and Gliding Practice for Proficiency

Participants are encouraged to build on gliding skills to maintain momentum and practice turning techniques.

Introduction to Pedals

As participants progress, they transition from balance to pedaling while learning how to steer and maintain control.

Practice Pedaling

Participants will be guided through the transition from gliding to pedaling.

Pedaling Proficiency

Participants are encouraged to continue pedaling with smooth starts and stops for longer distances.

Graduation and Review

Graduation Celebration – At the end of the camp, participants celebrate their accomplishment with a ceremony and receive a certificate of achievement to mark their success!
